Dutch aquafeed firm Nutreco picks up 25% stake in agri-tech startup Eruvaka

Eruvaka, an Internet of Things-based agricultural technology startup, has raised an undisclosed amount in a Series B round of funding from Dutch animal nutrition and aqua feed firm Nutreco and existing investor Omnivore.

Nutreco led the investment, picking up 25% stake in Eruvaka and forging a commercial partnership to help scale it globally, the Vijayawada-based startup said in a statement.

Nutreco’s chief innovation officer Viggo Halseth will join the board of Eruvaka.

Indian IoT Platform for Pre and Post Harvest Raises Seed Round Led By Omnivore

Indian startup AgNext has raised an undisclosed seed round led by India-focused Agtech VC Omnivore Partners along with Singaporean angel investor Samir Kumar.

Before harvest, AgNext provides a varied suite of precision agriculture tools including advanced crop modeling using remote sensing data combined with on-field IoT sensors, yield monitoring, nutrient status, pest and disease prediction, moisture and irrigation data among other parameters. These functions are provided through a mobile app.

“Our technology enables highly efficient and timely control of inputs like water, fertilizer, and pesticides, so as to maximize yield and minimize losses.  Lack of information on soil nutrients can lead to wasteful and hazardous use of the wrong fertilizers leading to adverse impact on crop,” AgNext CEO Taranjeet Bhamra told AgFunderNews

Omnivore invests in AgNext Technologies

Impact venture fund Omnivore has made its second investment in agri-food sensing solutions startup AgNext Technologies. The investment is from Omnivore’s second fund Omnivore Partners India Fund 2 and the amount invested is undisclosed.

Omnivore, which had announced making the first close of its Fund II at $46 million earlier this year, is targetting the final close at $75 million. The fund, which is hoping to strike 16 to 20 deals from fund II, invests in ticket sizes ranging between $ ..
